November 2009 will herald the 50th Anniversary of Trolleybuses in Crimea - home of the world's longest trolleybus route. To coincide with this anniversary, Panorama Tours offers Fully Escorted Trolleybus Packages to Crimea, Ukraine, whereby you will:

  • travel on selected trolleybuses
  • visit the Trolleybus Depots in Simferopol & Yalta
  • visit the Trolleybus/Tram Museum
  • participate in 'Trolleybus Experience' which includes 'have a go drive' (with instructor) 'have a go pole change', 'have a go wheel change' and preparation of trolleybus for journey to Yalta.
  • travel the worlds longest trolleybus route from Simferopol to Yalta

    Tour Itinerary



    DAY 01 Arrive Simferopol airport. Transfer to Radisson SAS Resort Alushta in Alushta. Dinner with briefing on the forthcoming programme.



    DAY 02 After breakfast and queue at the trolley bus stop to board a 1 hour ride into Yalta following the contours of the Black Sea.

    At Yalta board a private coach for a visit to the Livadia Palace the site of the treaty signed between Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill. A guided tour in English including the museum. Lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon free to explore the city of Yalta. Return by Trolley Bus to the hotel for dinner and overnight.



    DAY 03 Transfer by coach to Simferopol Trolleybus Depot for full day 'Trolleybus Experience' to include:
  • Welcome by Director General and/or Museum Director
  • Tour of the Trolleybus Museum
  • Tour of the Depot
  • Preparation of the Trolleybus for journey to Yalta (Washing/Cleaning)
  • Have-a-go Drive, have-a-go pole change, have-a-go wheel change
  • Run pasts
  • Be preparedfor a greasy day!



    Travel the world's longest trolleybus route from Simferopol to Yalta. Sandwich picnic lunch on board. Tour of the Trolleybus Depot in Yalta. Return to hotel in Alushta by trolleybus. Dinner.

    DAY 04 Full day visit to Sevastapol (City tour and Panorama Museum) and Balaclava (visit to secret submarine base plus harbour boat ride). Lunch included. Return hotel dinner and overnight.



    DAY 05 Transfer to Simferopol for flight to Kiev. On arrival, transfer to Radisson SAS Hotel Kiev for overnight.



    DAY 06 Visit to the Kiev Tram/Trolleybus Depot followed by Half Day City Tour with late lunch. Rest of the day is free (Optional visit to evening performance of Ballet/Opera).



    DAY 07 Full day tour to Lavra Monastery (including Museum of Miniatures) and Museum Dedicated to Great Patriotic War with lunch. Dinner.



    DAY 08 Transfer to Kiev Borispil Airport, for your flight to Europe.
