"MAMAIS SLOBODA" - Kozak Mamai Village
Welcome to Kiev's new tourist attraction - Mamais Sloboda (translated means Kozak Mamai Village).
Located just a short distance from the city centre and in the grounds of what was formerly St Michaels Cathedral
monastery, now you have the chance to discover the life in Kozak Mamai village during the 17th & 18th Century.
Over 90 buildings and monuments are set in 9.2 hectares including:
traditional kozak church
shynok (bar & eatery)
windmills
potters house
blacksmiths
traditional kozak houses
kozak captains house & armory
and much more….
During weekends there are traditional displays of kozak horse riding and artisans at work, including the blacksmith and potter
plus the opportunity to try local kozak cuisine and purchase craftwork & souvenirs.
Mamais Sloboda is open Tuesday - Friday from 11am - 6pm and on Saturday & Sunday from 11am - 8pm.
On Monday it's closed.
