This full day tour incorporates a visit to the world famous Pecherska Lavra Monastery and a visit to the Museum of Ancient Jewellery of Ukraine - The Golden Treasury and after lunch you will continue the tour with a visit to the Great Patriotic War Statue and Museum. There is an optional lunch at the Tsars Village restaurant. Programme: 09:00 hrs: Depart from your hotel with a professional English speaking guide 09:30 hrs - 12: 00 hrs: Visit Pechersk Lavra Monastery. Situated on a hill overlooking the Dnipro River, Kiev's Pecherska Lavra Monastery was founded by monks in 1051. Its spectacular structures were added to over the years in classical Byzantine and Ukrainian Baroque styles. This functioning monastery (28 hectares) is spread over several hills and consists of numerous churches, towers, and miles of underground tunnels (catacombs) with ancient crypts and ecclesiastical objects. Some of the most interesting museums of Ukraine are located in the grounds of the monastery - including the Museum of Historical Treasures & Jewelry, the Museum of Ukrainian Decorative and Applied Art and the Museum of Miniatures. 12:30 hrs - 14:00 hrs: Optional lunch at Tsars Village Restaurant 14:00 hrs - 16:00 hrs: Visit to the Great Patriotic War Statue and Museum Standing some 108 meters high, the gigantic titanium female figure soars into the sky and on a sunny day really does shine. Inside the pedestal is a museum with some 8000 exhibits reflecting the various stages and aspects of World War II. Located in grounds totaling 10 hectares, there is an eternal memorial flame, plaques honoring 'hero-cities' and a rather fine static display of vintage and more recent military equipment. FULL DAY TOUR TO PIROHOVO OPEN-AIR MUSEUM 
This open air museum offers an exciting walk through history into Ukrainian homes, bars, mills, and wells typical of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. Many of the buildings are original and moved here for restoration. Exhibits include traditional Ukrainian clothing, house wares, and ceramics. The most ancient of artifacts date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. It's a very pleasant way to spend an entire day.
